16-Bit Language Tools Master Index



Microchip 16-bit devices consist of PIC24F/24H microcontrollers (MCUs) and dsPIC30F/33F digital signal controllers (DSCs). Data sheets, application notes and other documentation concerning these devices may be found at the Microchip website. The language tools that support these devices are:



  • MPLAB® C Compiler for PIC24 MCUs and dsPIC DSCs (formerly MPLAB C30)

    • MPLAB C Compiler for PIC24 MCUs (subset C compiler)

    • MPLAB C Compiler for dsPIC DSCs (subset C compiler)



  • MPLAB Assembler for PIC24 MCUs and dsPIC DSCs (formerly MPLAB ASM30)

  • MPLAB Object Linker for PIC24 MCUs and dsPIC DSCs (formerly MPLAB LINK30)

  • 16-Bit Utilities, including MPLAB Archiver/Librarian for PIC24 MCUs and dsPIC DSCs (formerly MPLAB LIB30)


Documentation for these language tools is described below. Documentation is available in several formats:



  • HTML files may be viewed in your browser window.

  • CHM (compiled HTML) files may be launched from your browser window. Internet Explorer v5 or higher is required to view these files. (Components of IE are used to by the Help viewer.)

  • PDF documents will require the use of the free Adobe Reader to view. PDF documentation may be older than electronic documentation, so view electronic files for the latest information.
